Has it really been 7 years??

On this day seven years ago I was with a group of close friends deciding what we should do for New Years. We finally decided to go to a barbecue at one of the boys houses, then head out on the town to dance!

While at the barbecue I ran into a cute guy named Brandon....

And here we are seven years later!

I am married to that cute guy and have a wonderful son.

Thank you Brandon for seven amazing years!!

Four Christmases, NO make that Three

I have not seen "Four Christmases" but here is my family's version!
Our 1st Christmas, THE FLEMING CHRISTMAS
We started our celebration on the 24th with Brandon's parents, brother and family, in Grand Prairie, Texas.
We enjoyed wonderful food and good fellowship. Watching Eli and Georgia interact is so fun! They play together very well and share lots of things (sippy cups, pacis, chew toys??).
Although there are no pictures of the Fleming Boys (Michael and Brandon) they were there!
We woke up to a White Christmas on the 25th!!

Too cute, matched set!

Our Second Christmas, THE STORMS CHRISTMAS
We headed to Chickasha, OK on the evening of the 25th to join my family. We had good roads most of the way but the last 2 hours were icy! Brandon did a wonderful job of getting us there safely!
Mom (Grammy) and Dad (Papa) were excited to have us all home...
Bryan, Carrie, Laura (4 yrs), Bryce (2 1/2 yrs), Benjamin (8 mon), Deborah, Brandon, Eli (1 yr), Blake, Lauren, Kelsey!

Notice the Big Kids all have coffee, you need it to survive the CRAZY!
Eli was not into his gifts but he loved the spoon his Aunt Lauren put on the outside of his gift!

Aunt Kelsey got the Storms kids a 5 foot giraffe. Here is Laura trying to ride it with the help of Uncle Blake.
She almost has it!!

Our third Christmas, THE ROBINSON CHRISTMAS
Due to icy roads we were not able to make this Christmas. We were all packed up ready to go when we got the call from my aunts that they had started out and had to turn back. We found out later that we could have made it to my Uncle's house (although the 3 hour trip would have taken 6 hours) but once there we would not be able to get out after dark! This would have put 15 adults and 4 children in a three bedroom house for the night!! It would have gotten interesting! This is the first time in my memory that we have not been up there for Christmas and that was hard but we will see everyone soon!!

Our fourth Christmas, that became our third Christmas,
THE RILEY/STORMS CHRISTMAS
We get together with the Riley's every year to celebrate. Anthony has been around since I can remember and he brought a wonderful girl home, Tarah, and they have two cute girls, Brooklynn (5 yrs) and Britton (3 yrs).

My Sweet Micah

Two years ago today my Sweet Micah was born. Brandon and I were able to hold Micah and share that experience with family for about two hours before we handed him over to the nurse for the last time. I know Micah is with the Lord, glorifying Him with all of his little heart! I thank the Lord for the 35 weeks I had to carry Micah, feel him kicking, and enjoy him below my heart.

I love you my sweet Micah.
Happy Birthday

These pictures were done with Love by Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. This organization comes and takes wonderful pictures of lost children or sick children so that parents have a wonderful memory.

Brandon's Second Job

Brandon gives Eli his bath (every other night) and puts him to be every night. I go in and help PJ Eli up and then kiss him goodnight. Daddy gives him his sippy of milk and sings to him before putting him down.

Tonight it was taking what I thought was a long time to bathe Eli, but I was checking e-mail and paying bills so I did not notice. After finishing my work I realized that I was not hearing Eli splashing around in the tub, so I called back to Brandon and asked if Eli was still in the bath. Brandon said yes he was, so I went in to hang out with my boys.

I walked into Brandon standing over the tub with.... my teacher scissors!! Yes my big teacher scissors, and what was he doing??? Cutting Eli's hair.

No comb, just pulling hair off of Eli's head and cutting. Not just a little behind the ears, but all over!! There was tons of hair in the tub.

Now I know Eli has needed a hair cut for the last week and I keep putting it off, but cutting it your self is not the answer. We shall see what poor Eli looks like when his hair is completely dry...

What people say...

While having lunch with friends we started sharing what people say to us about our children. How you can have a little girl in a pink dress with ruffles and a bow in her hair and someone will say,"What a cute fellow." What?? Are you kidding me??
I hear all the time what wonderful eyes Eli has. But some of the comments are crazy...
I am the only one around when a lady asks me, "Have you seen his eyes, they are so blue?" I wanted to say, "No I have not looked into my child's eyes yet, let me get on that." instead I said, "Yes, his eyes really are blue." (with a smile!!)
I over hear a teenager in a store tell his girlfriend, "Man did you see that kids eyes, they were like a vampire or something." I'm not sure what to make of that but the teenager did have about 10 piercings on his face alone, so maybe he is into vampires??
Over the past few days I have had at least 4 people (maybe more but I can't remember) tell me. "Wow, look at his hair, he needs a hair cut." OK, so not in those exact words but they have told me I need to take my child in for a hair cut in some form or fashion. Now, I know his hair is a bit long, his daddy has been on me to take Eli to get his hair cut or he (Brandon) will cut it, but I have not had time, I have other things to do when Eli is not napping. Plus it has been cold and rainy.
Who walks up to someone they don't know and tells them they need to take their kid to get a hair cut? I get the blue eye thing, but that is a compliment (at least most of the time). I am not that offended by this, but I am surprised by what people say.

Batting 333

First let me start by saying how much I love and adore my husband. He always knows how to make me laugh!

About a week ago Brandon said something that makes me smile every time I think about it..

"You know that in baseball guys who hit 333 are hall of fame'rs" (or something close to that)

Brandon and I had a 7 week miscarriage last Wednesday. We had only know we were pregnant for 2 1/2 weeks and I had not felt good about this pregnancy. I had no symptoms and just did not "feel" pregnant like I did with the boys.

I am feeling much better now and know that the Lord has a plan for our lives and that I need to trust in his timing. So the thing is I know this (the plan thing) but it is sometimes hard to understand. I have been pregnant three times yet only have one child?? I have held two babies but only brought one home? It was during one of those WHY?? moments that Brandon pointed out the we could still be in the Hall of Fame if we were talking baseball and not babies. So, maybe I should start looking into this baseball thing...

My prayer is that I do not let the timing of this lose take away from the joy of knowing my Eli and seeing him grow and learn. That I do not torture myself with thinking about what Micah would be doing as his 2nd birthday draws closer.

I pray that I enjoy this season of giving and love with family and friends and celebrate what my Lord did for me in sending His Son to earth for my sin.

I have so much! Thank you Lord for your blessings on my family and your perfect timing in my life!!
