Eli 20 months

Eli is almost 21 months old now but since I use this as a baby book of sorts I wanted to post something about his 20th month of life!

Eli is talking up a storm (his mother's child). His vocabulary has grow so big that I can't count the words. He tends to repeat things he hears and picks things up we didn't know he knew. Example: He handed me a play cup and said "hold cup". I did not know he knew cup or understood for me to hold it! He is also stringing words together, like "where is it?" "I don't know?" and "where it go?".

Eli loves to play ball and will play catch with daddy or me. He also, thinks everything can be thrown and gets things taken away (like toy cars) when he thorws them.

Eli still loves music and will stop and dance to anything. His favorite books right now are all sing along books, The Wheels on the Bus, Old McDonold, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I love when Eli gets a book and climbs up in my lap to read. He always ask for more, more, when I am done (he does not know I can't carry a tone or tune, but Brandon does and just laughs).

Eli has loved his new back yard, we try and play outside every afternoon/evening depending on the temp!

Eli is also a water baby and loves to swim, although he wants to be hanging onto someone if he is in the big pool. He spends a ton of time in the water table, yes IN the water table. Eli has also started taking showers. It started as a way to get a fast clean after a meal by throwing him in with mom or dad, but now he sometimes takes one by himself. I have toys in the shower for him to play with and I just stand at the door to wash him then let him play for a bit while I get ready. I know it is a wast of water but it buys me five minutes to get dressed without help!

Eli is also still climbing. I turned around from getting something out of the frig to him standing on the kitchen table reaching for the light. I did not scream but walked over and got him down, then got onto him. He has lost his chairs because he uses them to climb on something else all the time. He keeps me on my toes!

Here are a few pics of Eli on his month birthday!

July and Half of August

Here are pictures and info to tell you about our month. We have been busy, getting the house ready, at the lake, having play dates, and date dates. Eli is growing so fast and is acting more like a toddler than a baby (I guess he is a toddler). Brandon stays busy with work at work and yard work at home. I am still trying to finish those last boxes of deco stuff.

4th of July
The Woods came over for dinner and fun, we did not see any fire works but with the little ones that was ok.

Jane and Eli in their 4th gear.

I took Eli to the zoo one of the 90 degree days of July (had to get it in before it got too HOT).

Eli is loving the backyard. It is nice to have a yard with grass and no poison ivy!

Brandon and I went to Chris and Katie Kirkpatrick's wedding. I didn't get a good pic of the bride and groom.

Brandon and I all dressed up! (Thanks Lauren for helping me with my dress pick)

Eli has started liking puzzles. He needs help (lots) but loves to see the puzzle finished and then start over.

Eli is a climber and lost his chairs because he would not stop standing on them, using them as a step stool, or putting the chair on top of the table and climbing on top!
Eli knows that he has snack at his table, so with or without chairs he knows what to do! (I would have given him a chair for snack but he did not seem to mind sitting on the floor)

On one of the 100+ degree days Amanda Wood and I took the kids to the Museum.
Eli enjoyed the outside water activities, so much so that he went home in a diaper.

There is way to much going on for the kids to stay still for a picture, but I tried!

I have been giving Eli chores, I thought I would start with swiffering the floor, next dishes!
The boy loves to sweep/swiffer!!

Eli and I went to a park over by the new house. Eli loved it! There is an area that is for just small kids and it has a fence all around it so they can't get out and big kids can't get in!

Right before falling out of the swing, Eli just got up and asked to get back in

Brandon and I had his side of the family out to the lake house this summer. Of course the only pictures are of Georgia and Eli, but many more where there. Tom and Tess, Debbie and Mike (Tess' sister and brother-in-law), Anne, John, Sara, Caitlin, and Colby (Debbie's daughter and family), Mike, Amy, and Georgia, and of course Brandon, Deborah, and Eli.
We had a great time and enjoyed all the family time.

Hanging out in Colby's rocker.

Eli going down the slide into the water, he loved it!

Papa and Eli

Every year Brandon plays in a fantasy football league. The boys have a draft order party (any reason to have a cookout). Here are all the kids eating at once!
Eli, Jane, Jake, and Hogan! WOW, it was a sight.

Last week we had a family from our bible study over.
This is the four boys, their three and Eli!
Blake, Reece, Eli, Jackson

Eli's second cousin came over to play one afternoon. Of course my camera was down stairs as they played up stairs so this is the only pic of the day!

For the past four summers I have gone on a girls trip with five friends from TCU. This year we meet at the lake! We enjoyed the pool and just hanging out. Here we are at Jo Ts, the girls that moved away always need a Mexican food fix!

Marisa and Melaine (the pregos, due in November)

Katherine and Courtney

Jill and Deborah

I don't have one of us all together but will post one when one of the other girls sends it my way!

A few things not in pictures:

-Eli and I try to make it out to the lake to swim (in the neighborhood pool) at least once a week. This way we can check on the house and stay cool!
-We went on a great date with the Curry's to celebrate selling our house and buying a new one. We went to Eddie Vs and loved it!
