Happy Birthday Eli!

Happy Birthday Eli!

Only a few months late, but I started it the day after Eli's birthday!

Eli turned three yesterday and I can't believe how big my little boy has gotten!

Eli is 32.8 lb and 37 1/2 in tall.

A few things I want to remember about Eli at 3 years old:

He is talking in complete sentences using new vocabulary all the time. He will say something and it takes me a minute to respond because I am trying to figure out where he learned a new word or how he got to that conclusion.

He is getting very good at directions. He can tell you how to get to our house five streets before you get to our house. He can do the same with his Papa's house and his Papa Flash and Mimi's house.
He knows right and left about 80 percent of the time.

He loves Cars. The movie and cars in general. He can play with his cars by himself for over an hour. He loves to line the up and race them across the coffee table.

He plays independently very well. He wants daddy and mommy to watch and only play when he asks us to. He also gets his own milk out of the frig and will even get snacks out. He wants to climb in and out of the car and help put his 'belts' on.

We are still working on potty training. Eli was doing great but October set him back.

Eli is starting to know his letters. He recognizes his name and can tell you how to spell it. He also points out letters he sees in his name. "mommy that's my name E L I" when he sees any of the letters.

Eli knows what he likes and doesn't like. He has no trouble ordering what he wants at a restaurant. If they have shrimp, that will always be his first choice. He also likes veggies and dip as his side. He loves veggies and fruit. He also enjoys a good seaweed salad.
He is still just drinking water and milk unless it's a special occasion.

I'll post October - March pics over the next few weeks. Including Eli and Hogan's birthday party!

Things I want to remember for Eli

Here are a few things I want Eli to remember about his Grammy. I'm sure I will need to add to this post over the next few weeks but it's a start.

-When Eli coughs Grammy always says, "Bless your little heart" if someone else says it to him he tells you, "no only Grammy can say that!"
-Grammy always loved to snuggle and read with Eli. She would read as many books as Eli wanted.
-Grammy always made songs she sang to Eli personal. Changing Jesus Loves You to Jesus Loves Eli. She also had special songs she put Eli's name into. (unfortunately I don't remember all of them but I'll work on it)
-The last time Grammy and I went shopping we were picking out Christmas PJs for the kids. Eli says, "Grammy I like these ones with the cars" so Grammy got them, his last pair of PJs from Grammy.
-When Grammy kept Eli for my girls trip she asked Eli what he wanted for lunch. Eli says, "I really like those nuggets from Donald's" so Grammy took him to Donald's!

I will add more as I think of it.

Just some random pics...

Amanda and the girls came over to play.
Amanda read to the big kids for awhile.

Eli helped me out and dusted the base boards!

Rangers Baseball

A few weeks ago we took Eli to a Rangers Baseball game. He loved it!

Eli thought the peanut shells on the ground was great.

First Day of School

Eli started a new school this year closer to home.

He is loving it!

Here Eli is all ready to go.

Mommy and Eli about to head to school.

On the way! (only 5 min from the house)

I knew everyone would be taking pics of kids going in the room so I took one outside in the hallway.

Fleming Dinner

We had a great dinner with the Fleming family.

Eleanor loves her new toy, Sophia
Look at those beautiful blue eyes!

Eli and Georgia had a great time playing in the water table.

At the Zoo

I took Hogan and Eli to the zoo a few weeks ago when it wasn't so hot out. (Rece was not able to make it since he had an appointment)
Amanda and Eloise met us there for a bit before heading to pick up Jane from school.

On the way to the zoo the boys read to each other. I wish I had gotten it on film!

The kids had a blast looking at all the animals and feeding the birds!

We topped off the day with a train ride!

BOYS

A few weeks ago the Robison boys
came over to hang out while their
mom started back to school.

I thought it would be fun to take the boys to the splash pad. We got in our suits, sunscreen on, and in the car...
And the splash pad was closed for repairs.
So we headed home to play in the backyard to play in the water.

They all tried to fit but it was a no go.

Summer Fun Days #9

For our last Summer Fun Day we (Amy and I) took the boys to The Mack Daddy of Splash Pads in Trophy Club. It was a drive but so worth it!

Hogan, Rece, and Eli waiting for it to open.

Eli came down a bit slower than Hogan

We did not ride again after this...
Guess the sign saying for 8 and up was there for a reason!

Some more fun picks of the kids...

We missed all the mommy's that were back to school and kidos that were back to school and not able to make it!!
