Ear Tubes

Luke had ear tubes put in today. After 6 ear infections in 4 months it was time. Also, he had to be on an extra strong antibiotic since the normal one wasn't taking care of the infection. It made fun fun diapers for mommy:/.
We got to the surgery center at 6:00am and were home by 8:00am.
Luke did great, went back happy and playing. Woke up very mad, but after nursing went right to sleep. Of course he didn't want to be held so I put him back in his crib.
Luke had lots of fluid on his right ear and most likely was not hearing well out of that ear. The left ear looked ok but got a tube since it gas been infected also.
Here are the before and after pics.

They had a good time, but were a bit cold. Nothing like watching 6 four year olds running around after one ball!

First mow of 2013

Luke really wants to be out there with big brother and daddy. Eli was so excited that he gets to mow with daddy!

Luke Sick

Luke has been sick since Thursday afternoon (2-14-13). We went into Cooks Urgent Care that night and were told it was a virus. To bring him back if his temp was over 104 or other symptoms like vomiting started.
Friday night Luke's fever spiked to 104.9 and he also vomited. He would not nurse and was very lethargic. We called the nurse on call and she said to take him in. Since Urgent Care was closed we headed down town to the 'big' hospital ER. Of course Luke's fever was down by the time we got there. It only took a little over 2 hours (not bad since the last time we were there we waited 6 hours to go up stairs on the floor). Again we were told that Luke had a virus and to just wait it out. If his fever didn't come down with meds bring him back.
Thankfully my Aunt LaDell was in town and stayed with Eli so both Brandon and I could go to the hospital.
Sunday fever was off and on but by Sunday night no fever just cranky baby. Over night Luke was up a lot but no fever this morning! We are headed to Luke's Ped for a follow up this morning. Ill update after!

Here are a few pics of Luke after the meds started working!

March 12 and beyond

I wanted to play catch up since I print my blog as my baby / family book!

Monday, March 12,  Brandon and I celebrated seven years of marriage.  What a wonderful, dramatic, painful, full, and wild ride it has been.  Brandon, thank you for all you do for our family.  Thank you for loving me so completely!

Since we had a fun kid free night planned for Friday we had a casual dinner with Eli.  We had a great time just playing around enjoying our family of three.  Little did we know it would be the last dinner out we would have together as a family of three.

On Tuesday, March 13, I went to my 33 week doctor appointment.  Kelsey was watching Eli and I told him I would be home before nap time. I had a sono and then a stress test (watching baby's heart rate and movements). During the stress test my doctor came in and told me she wanted me to go to the hospital I was delivering at for a longer stress test. I thought it would be just the afternoon, at most over night.

22 days later I left with baby Luke!

If LS is 2.5 or higher we will start with cytotec 50 @ 2:00pm, pit 6:00pm

LS was 2.4, start cytotec 25 @ 8:00pm, 2nd cytotec 25 @ 12:00am, pit @ 4:00am

Birth Story:
The 8:00pm cytotec was not bad, but after the 12:00am round my contractions picked up.  The pit was started at 4:00am.  Babies heart rate started taking big dips every contraction.  I was worried that I would end up with and emergency
C-Section so I went ahead and got my epidural around 6:00am
Brandon and I had a few more hours before family started arriving and my contractions really picked up.
Around 9:00 the nurse asked the family to go to the waiting room, baby Fleming would arrive soon! (I later found out that if I was not ready to push we would have been going to a C-section)
Baby arrived at 9:37am! I pushed once then the doctor said to stop, there was a cord.
She delivered the baby and rushed it to the NICU nurses.  They worked on baby boy for about 25 min.  They jump started his breathing and sucked his lungs.  The NICU nurses said he was doing well enough to stay with me and not go to the NICU.
Brandon and I still had not decided on a name yet but needed to if we were going to introduce Baby Fleming to the family!
So we decided on Luke Austin!
Brandon took the family Easter Eggs, filled with pink candy!  Then said "April Fools" when everyone thought we had a girl.
Then he gave them paper with letters on them to figure out the name!
