A few pics from Eli's surgery

The finger before surgery..... I will post after surgery pics after the splint comes off.

Happy boy before surgery, you have to love the purple gown.
Eli kept looking down like, "Why am I in a dress?"

Sleepy boy after surgery.
His hand is wrapped so big so that he will not hurt himself playing!

I have more but they were not turned right and I did not have time!

Up date on the family surgerys

My mom went in for surgery on Tuesday and did great. She now has a colostmy bag and no gallbladder! Mom was expected to have a colostmy bag 25 years ago, and even though she is not excited about it now it is better than when she was 33. Mom will be in the hospital until Friday or Saturday and then home to recover more. She is in some pain but it is getting better. Her main problem right now is that she gets nauseous and the meds they give her make her head hurt.

Eli's surgery went great today. The doctor was able to fix his hand without getting a skin graph. I guess all the baby fat comes in handy!! He came home and slept for about three hours, I loved this since we got up at 5:15 to get to the hospital on time and I needed a nap also!! Poor Brandon had to go in to work, so no nap for him.
Eli has been a bit cranky today but I think it is from frustration at not being able to do things with his hand in a splint. I will be getting up at midnight to give him some more Tylenol, the doctor said if we can stay on top of the pain it will mean less of the strong meds.

Thank you for all your prayers!!

Prayer Needed

Please be praying for my family over the next weeks...

Next week looks to be a very stressful and crazy week.

I am helping a friend out keeping her two boys mornings and afternoons for a few weeks (they go to preschool during the day). I love having them and Eli loves having playmates! It makes me want a house full!! But this means a little extra work all around. Getting three boys dressed, feed, loaded in the car (I have to climb in the back to get the oldest in his car seat), to school and in classrooms is a little challenging (since two are not walking yet), but again I love it.
I have them Monday through Thursday, but not next week.

This is were the "Prayer Needed" comes in....

On Monday the boys will be here.

Tuesday I will be driving to Oklahoma to sit with my dad for my mom's surgery.
My mom had colon cancer 25 years ago. The doctors told my parents that mom only had a 10% chance of living 5 years, but no longer, even with surgery to remove the cancer, chemo, and radiation.
25 years later she has lived to fight cancer two more times.
Now she is having problems from all the radiation she had. 25 years ago radiation was a new treatment and they did not know how much to use and the long term effects.
She is going into surgery to have a colostomy bag put in. This was something that they thought would need to be done in 1985 but were able to avoid it. Now there is blockage and dead bowl that has to be taken care of.
Mom is not worried about living with this, although she is nervous of how she will do with different foods, but with any surgery there are risk.
Please pray for both my parents as they prepare for this life change. Pray for the doctor's as they are in surgery and for my mom's recovery.

Wednesday I have the boys.

Thursday my sweet little boy has surgery. (I know why schedule two in one week but mom's was just planned!!)
Eli has a webbed finger on his left hand and needs to have it fixed. The doctor wants to do it while his is young so that he will not mess with it and so he won't remember the surgery.
This is a simple surgery but when your baby is going to be put under and cut on it makes you scared and sad.
Please pray for the doctors and me, mom, as the surgery is going on. Pray that Eli will not be in to much pain and that I will see the signs and take care of it with medicine.

Thank you for all your prayer!!

Eli Walking

This is a better video of Eli walking!!

The other boys at the end are Blake and Jackson, a few of Eli's friends.

Look Who is Walking!!

Eli started walking over the weekend!!
He has been walking holding your hand or pushing something for awhile now but no walking on his own.
This is a video of him walking to his daddy on Sunday. I had to start him out so I don't pick up the camera for a bit.
I don't know how to flip it, sorry!!

Eli is now walking around the room without holding onto anything. He is slow so when he wants to go he is still crawling, but he walks more everyday!!
