Robinson's at the Lake

Every year my family gets together at the lake for some family fun.
Here is a picture of all the grandkids, great grandkids,
and wives/husbands (or future wives) that could make it !

Seven Months of Fun

Eli is seven months old!!
We have laughed, cried, laughed, and slept (some) over the past seven months. Eli has been a wonderful blessing for our family.
I thank the Lord daily for His gift to us.

Look how far we have come!!

Jill and Prentice get married

On June 18th my good friend Jill McNeal married Prentice Elliott in a private ceremony. They then had all their family and friends in to celebrate. Brandon and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Whitestone Inn in Knoxville Tennessee. We got to hang out with friends and spend time 'kidless'! We missed Eli but it was nice to have a couple weekend.

We had a weekend full of activities. We started Friday with a cookout then played games in the inn's game room. On Saturday morning we went on a hike, played tennis, went out on the lake (in a paddle boat that did not paddle well), played croquet, and picked blue berries. That night we had a wonderful celebration with great food and dancing.

Eli Laughing

Eli has been smiling for awhile now but he had really started to laugh.

Here Eli is with his daddy laughing.

Brandon's Birthday at the Lake

This past Saturday we had a bunch of friends out to the lake to celebrate Brandon's 29th year! We had lots of fun and tons of food. Most of the dad's and single and/or kidless friends headed out on the boats (Chris brought his boat and we used our family boat). The mom's and a few dad's stayed at the house and pool. We have life vest of the babies and kids but with naps, feeding, diapers, heat, and the worry of sun burns it is easier to stay close to the house, but don't worry we had fun also. With the play kitchen, play food and pans, bucket of bouncy balls, basket of baby dolls, and of course the kid size chairs you would think a three year old lives at the lake house not a 27 year old!

Here are some pictures of all the fun!!

Blue Day

Have you ever woken up sad? Maybe not sad but just blue? I have been thinking about Micah a lot today and I've just been a bit blue. Eli's sweet smiles make things better. Sometimes I look at Eli and wonder what color Micah's eyes would be and if he would have as cute a smile as Eli? I'm not sure what brought this on, I think about Micah every day but I am not normally this down. I think I might have had a dream about Micah because when I woke up this morning I was thinking about him. This Thursday would be Micah's 18 month birthday so maybe that is it.

Toes Anyone??

I put Eli on the coffee table in his bumbo so I could feed him his cereal but his daddy's toes caught his eye first!!

Don't worry Brandon had just gotten out of the shower so his toes were clean and I did feed the boy after I took the pictures, although Brandon had to put his feet down before Eli would eat. Who would have guessed toes taste better than oatmeal cereal??

Dinner Disaster

Don't take a six month old to a nice restaurants.

I should know this but for some reason my mind did not work last week when we went out for the boys birthdays.

My brothers birthdays are the 3rd and 4th of June and Brandon's birthday is the 11th of June so my family always goes out to celebrate every one's birthday at once. My dad calls about 4:30 on Monday to tell me we are going to Ruth's Chris for dinner at 7:30 that night. I say sounds great I'll let Brandon know and that was that. I had never been to Ruth's Chris and figured since there are 4 grand kids under the age of 3 years that we were going to a family friendly place. I called Brandon and left a message about the place and time. He calls back about 6 and asks if Bryce and Laura are going. I told him, I guess?. I find out at 6:30 that Bryce and Laura have a babysitter but we are to bring Eli it will be fine. It was not fine!!

Eli does great at first, smiling at Grammy and playing with her, then he lost his mind. I tried feeding him milk (standing up in a bathroom stall since he does not like to be covered anymore), I tried feeding him cereal, we tried toys, we tried standing with him, but nothing worked. So, Brandon and I took turns walking him outside during the rest of the meal.

People have asked me what the food was like, if I liked it?? I can say the soup was wonderful, after that I don't know since I was walking Eli or eating fast so Brandon could eat.

Lesson Learned: Eli needs a babysitter when we are going to dinner!!

The guest list this year:

Bruce and Jan (dad and mom)

Bryan, Carrie, and Benjamin (Brother, Sister-in-law, new baby)

Deborah, Brandon, and Eli (Me, Husband, and 6 month old)

Blake and Lauren (Brother and soon-to -be Sister-in-law)

Kelsey (Sister)

Eli's first trip to the Ball Park

Brandon and I took Eli to the Ball Park to watch a family friend play baseball last Sunday. Eli did really well considering he had not had a nap all day (I put him down but he did not sleep) and it was over 90 degrees! I took Eli in my Baby Bjorn. It was great, Eli could see out and I did not have to carry 17 lb. round!!

Here is Eli and Mommy standing in front of the Ball Park with the new stadium in the background.

We went to watch a friend of mine, Leslee Holiday, husband play. He plays for the Oakland A's. We sat with her family (her parents live around the corner from mine) and Leslee got to meet Eli for the first time. Leslee's boys where also there to watch their daddy but played more with their grandparents than watched. I sat and talked with Leslee the whole time while Brandon watched the game. Leslee would glance over and watch Matt bat but other than that she did not pay much attention to the game. I guess when you go hundreds of games a year they all seem to blend. It was nice to catch up with Leslee and see her boys. Of course Eli charmed everyone with his smiles and all his chatter!

Water Fun

Eli's first water experience out of the tub was on Memorial day at his Aunt Amy and Uncle Mikes house. He was not a fan of the cold water!!

Eli, Georgia, and friend Elli. The girls don't understand why Eli wants out!!

Eli's second chance at water was swimming with his friends Hogan Curry and Jane Wood. He did not like the water at first but soon was kicking around and having fun.

This is Eli waiting for mommy to get ready to go in the water.
