I wanted Eli to see the fire works on his first 4th of July, but it was over 100 degrees outside, so what is a mom to do?
We started the afternoon at Jo T's sitting in the shade with a fan blowing on us but it was still unbelievably hot. We had fun and so did Eli, playing with the girls and taking down some water in his sippy cup. After Jo T's we thought it would be fun to go to Concert in the Park, surely it would cool down when the sun went down, right? Wrong! It was hotter at 8:00pm than at 4:00 because there was no air movement. Here we are sitting in the Botanical Gardens sweating with a 7 month old striped down to his diaper. To top things off the fire works don't start until after 10:00pm (Eli has a late bedtime but not that late). We left as soon as the fire works were done to catch the bus back to where we parked, with Eli still only in his diaper.
I know people were looking at me thinking "what a bad mom, look at that baby all hot and only in his diaper, and what is he doing out so late at night", " I know what a white trash thing, someone should call CPS", "look at that white trash family out with their kid at 10:30 and only in a diaper"
So, Eli saw fire works on his first 4th of July and seemed to enjoy them, plus he got to hang out in his diaper. That does not sound to bad, right?
This is how Eli looked on the bus home, diaper only with his paci in.
Eli before he got striped down (this only lasted until the pictures were taken)
