No Water!!

Sunday, July 14, I went to put the boys in the shower and we had no water. Brandon went out in the rain and found water bubbling out on either side of the side walk but he wasn't able to turn the water off. We called the city and they came out and turned it off and told us it was on our side if the meter so we would need to call a plumber.  Since it was Sunday and plumbers are much more on the weekend we called and scheduled one for Monday morning. Sunday night we took dinner to our friends down the street and used their shower!

Monday the plumber came and dug out around the side walk (in the rain) and found that the problem wasn't at a connection but someplace under our drive way. 

I started using rain water to flush the toilets. Fun times I know! 

So we abandoned the old line and needed to place a new one.  Only problem, in order to use the tractor to dig it needed to be dry 3 days. We were on day 2 of a 5 day forecast of rain. I couldn't wait a week for water, remember I was flushing with rain water I collected from the down spout in five gallon buckets. 

So we pain extra to have a dig team come dig up our yard!  They came Tuesday morning and we had water by 4:00pm that night. It was so nice to take a hot shower and flush the toilet. Plus I had lots of laundry and dishes to do!!

The bummer was the city didn't get out until Friday to do the inspection so my yard was turn for almost a week. Monday morning the crew was out to fix the sprinkler line they brook and fill in the dirt!
