Started out very innocent.
E- "are we going to see the baby on TV today?" (He has seen a few sonos)
Me- "no mama is just having a shot to help the baby's lungs."
E- "I'm not having a shot!"
Me- "no, just me."
E- "ok, how does the baby get out?"
Me- "the doctor gives me special medicine and uses special tools to help the baby come out" (this has been my response in the past and its always been enough, not today)
E- "I know that but where does it come out? Your belly button?"
Me- "no"
Eli- "then where, your peepee or poopooo spot?"
Me- "well it comes out from down there but mama's have a special extra place that only babies come out, not our peepee or poopoo spots."
Eli- "so I can't see it?"
Me- "NO!"
Eli- "can daddy see it?"
Me- "well your daddy is with mama when the baby comes out but he likes to hold my hand and not watch."
Eli- "I'd watch."
Me- "I'm sure you would but little kids can't be in the room when babies are born."
Eli- "but if they could be I could watch?"
Me- "maybe when you have a baby when your 30"
Eli- "but,"
Me- "ok Eli we are here and need to go in!"
I'm sure there are so many more questions to come! I hope I'm a little more prepared next time.
