Today I woke up with some mild to not so mild cramping but nothing a little Tylenol wouldn't fix. After sitting around watching Eli play we headed to his 15 month well child visit. When we arrived I had to wait behind two other parents to sign in, normally not a problem...
But standing today was not a good idea for me. I checked us in then ask where the "grown up" bathroom was. Luckily before heading out I thought to grab some extra hygiene products. So while Eli played in the restroom (lovely) I took care of myself then headed back out to wait for them to call us back to a room.
By the time we were called back (maybe 15 min.) I knew I was in trouble. We got to the room and I started answering all the normal questions and telling the nurse my questions. I striped Eli and we headed to get his weight and height, but I did not make it. Handing my diapered only child to the nurse I ran for the bathroom.
To late, blood was already down to my shoes. I was told to expect a little more blood than last time due the fact that I was farther along but this much?? After cleaning my self up as best I could and tying my jacket around my waist I went to join the nurse and Eli. (I did have to find some one to clean the bathroom, I tried but it needed more help.)
I did OK for the measurements and headed back to the room to await the doctor. A few minutes later I was running back down the hall, threw Eli at the nurse, and into the bathroom. Once again, blood down to my shoes (which at this point are trash). Once again, I had to tell the nurse that the bathroom needed help.
After this I lost it, I told the nurse we were leaving and called Brandon to meet us at home. Everyone was wonderful, the nurse dressed Eli, the office manager gave me towels for my car, the receptionist waved off the co-pay (they'll bill me), and the doctor checked to see if we wanted an ambulance. Over all they were wonderful.
I called my OB on the way home and was told to head to the ER. Who do I call for Eli, I can't keep him in an ER room for hours?? I have lots of people I can call but I needed someone close so we could get to the ER ASAP.
Aunt Lauren to the rescue!! I called and she was on the way. Eli had a great time hanging out with Aunt Lauren and mommy and daddy did not have to worry about him while at the ER.
We arrived at the ER at 11:50, went back to triage at 11:55, saw the doctor in triage at 12:30 and then headed back to start test and an exam.
After blood work, a pelvic exam (the doctor help clean my uterus out), and a sono we headed to our last room to await results.
The results were in and we did not need a D/C. We only had a little bit of debris left in my uterus (after the doctor finished) and that should pass naturally. We were sent home with instructions to call my OB or a follow up appointment.
