The Bride, Amanda, and ME
We have had a few wedding seasons, normally followed by baby season a few years later. We are now in the middle of a wedding season and a baby season!! We had our first of 5 weddings this past weekend in Austin. We had a great time enjoying family and friends. The bride is a good friend of mine from Chickasha that now lives in Dallas. Her mom and dad have been friends with my parents since before they were married and moved to Chickasha (small world).
The groom loves live music and plays in a band, so at the rehearsal dinner there was a live band! They rented out the SpeakEasy, a bar in Austin, for the rehearsal dinner and music. We had a great time getting to know the grooms family and listening to live music!
Saturday morning we had a Bridal Brunch at TRIO in the Four Seasons Hotel. We had a great time talking and laughing about things the bride did when she was little! After the brunch we headed upstairs to start make-up, were we had our make-up air brushed on! We had our hair done and before we knew it, it was time to head to the church!
The wedding was at Saint Mary Cathedral in down town Austin. The Cathedral is over a hundred years old (built in last 1880s I think). It has been restored in the past few years and is beautiful. I did not get any pictures of it since there is no flash photography and I did not take my camera to the rehearsal (I forgot)! The wedding went off without any problems and Leon and Amanda headed to the Reception in a horse drown carriage!
The reception was at the Four Seasons Hotel, were we stayed. It was wonderful with great food and a 10 piece band to dance along to! The cake was great, the grooms cake was in the shape of a guitar and the brides cake was a four layer raspberry filled delight!! Brandon and I enjoyed dancing to all those old high school and college songs, you know the ones you still know the words to! The groom, bride, and a few friends preformed for all with the dance to thriller. I made it until 12:45 before I had to head to bed!!
Thank you to the Lau and Toye for a wonderful weekend!!
